WELCOME TO PASCO!
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Philippine American Society of Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating, preserving, promoting and sharing the Philippine culture and heritage through educational and cultural opportunities that would enrich and enhance the lives of its members and the people of Colorado.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF PASCO
The founding of the Philippine American Society of Colorado (PASCO) was conceived towards the end of 1982 by a group of bright, energetic, talented and well- meaning Filipino- Americans in Colorado. They observed the need to preserve and promote our Philippine Heritage. The Filipino population in Colorado was growing and a Filipino organization seemed necessary to serve the east side of the Denver metropolitan area. To test this idea, monthly social gatherings were held at the Exposition Park Recreation Center in Aurora, Colorado. The first of these gatherings took place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1983 and continued for about a year and well attended. This informal group developed a choir and dance troupe, even getting a Baptist choir director to lead. Picnics were held. Dance and choir practices were held in family residences, backyards and basements.

SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District)
SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) is the only cultural funding model in the nation that serves a region of seven counties. This broad base has allowed us to grow into the second-largest cultural funding mechanism in the United States. We fund nearly 300 organizations across our front-range urban corridor, distributing more than $80 million annually. These tax dollars provide critical operational support for small, medium, and large organizations. We’re also a catalyst for bringing world-class exhibits and events to our metro region which would otherwise never be presented. SCFD is proof that we are stronger together. Culture is not just available in the epicenter of our cities, but surrounds us throughout the metro area
