Cultural Programs

PASCO offers many cultural programs that promote learning and community for our members. We aim to nurture the enthusiasm of our members to enjoy and sustain the wonderful culture, heritage, and values of the Filipino people.

Parol Making

A parol is a lovely cultural Christmas decor item. It’s actually a lantern, the lighting of which signifies mutual hope. Its roots go far back in time to the barrio inhabitants who viewed them as guiding lights on their way to important Church events. They are typically displayed from December 16th until midnight on Christmas Eve and our parol making event is a fun way to learn about this tradition.

Filipino Class

Marunong ka ba mag-Tagalog? (Do you know how to speak Tagalog?)

The official language of the Philippine is called Tagalog. If you are not fluent in the Tagalog language and are interested in learning how to speak the language, PASCO is offering conversational Tagalog classes for all ages.
